My first swim with spinner dolphins Two Step Hawaii
Their powerful sonar can penetrate up to three feet through sand and mud with resolution significant enough to distinguish between a dime and a penny. Due to this power, scientists believe that dolphins can view the inside of our bodies similar to a sonogram performed on pregnant women.
Indeed, dolphins are fascinated with pregnant women, honing in on the unborn fetus. Furthermore, they often focus on individuals’ specific areas of impairment, as well as places containing tumors. So my personal experience…
We went down to Two Step a resting are for the spinner dolphin. I put on my snorkel gear and in the water I went, not knowing what to expect or how this was going to feel. We had already spotted many dolphins from the shore, in which Kaden was able to see.
As we started our swim out, it was very calm and peaceful. The water is definitely colder than Miami:) but I adjusted quickly, especially after seeing my first pod of dolphins swimming right under me! The dolphins are so beautiful and peaceful. We stayed out there for about an hour and at times i felt certain dolphins dancing/connecting with Willow (baby in belly) and me. One in particular would swim around me, then under, and then jump and flip/spin out of the water then come right back under and hang out.
Another magical incident occurred towards the end of my swim. I was heading in and all of a sudden I heard the dolphins, their sonar was getting louder and stronger, but I could not see the dolphins. All of a sudden there were 6 or 8 dolphins swimming right towards me under the water, they zoomed right by twisting and turning under the water, looking right at me. It was incredible and intimate, like that was a special message just for me:)(this is the picture above)
So are dolphins attracted to pregnant women? Well I certainly believe they are after an amazing first swim!
